This collective brings a wealth of expertise, resources and vision.
From driving economic growth and innovation to enhancing public spaces and supporting local communities, each stakeholder plays a vital role in transforming the Royal Docks into a thriving destination for business, culture, and living.
Their shared commitment ensures that development is not only forward-looking but also rooted in the needs and aspirations of the people who live, work, and visit the area.
The Royal Docks Team is the GLA-backed programme responsible for the long-term regeneration and promotion of the Royal Docks area. We work in close partnership with them to ensure that the water and the waterfront are a central part of the area’s future.
The Royal Docks are at their most exciting point in a generation. Collaboration between the organisations working here is what will make the difference between good regeneration and great regeneration.

Key Partners
Royal Docks Waterways are working with our key stakeholders to shape a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable future for the Royal Docks, positioning it as a key gateway for London and a model for collaborative urban regeneration.

GLA (Greater London Authority)
The Greater London Authority is the strategic authority for London and a key stakeholder in the long-term future of the Royal Docks. As the body responsible for citywide planning, transport and economic development, the GLA plays a central role in shaping the ambitions we share for this part of east London.

ExCeL London
ExCeL London is one of Europe’s leading international convention and exhibition centres, welcoming millions of visitors to the Royal Docks each year. As a major employer and destination on the water’s edge, ExCeL is a close neighbour and important partner in the continued activation of the docks.

London City Airport
London City Airport is one of the Royal Docks’ most significant neighbours and economic anchors. As the airport continues to grow, our shared interest in the sustainability and vitality of the docks makes for a natural and productive partnership.

London Borough of Newham
The London Borough of Newham is the local authority for the Royal Docks and a vital partner in ensuring that regeneration benefits the communities who live and work here. Our shared commitment to place, sustainability and inclusive growth underpins everything we do together in the docks.

University of East London
The University of East London has a major campus on the waterfront at Royal Albert Dock, bringing thousands of students and staff to the area and playing an active role in the cultural and economic life of the docks. UEL’s presence is a powerful symbol of the area’s transformation and ambition.

Lendlease
Lendlease is one of the major development partners active in the Royal Docks, bringing significant investment and long-term commitment to the area’s regeneration. Their work on the waterfront contributes to the mix of residential, commercial and cultural uses that are gradually bringing the docks back to life.

TfL Cable Car
TFL Cable Car, operated by the Elizabeth line’s riverside neighbour, is one of the most distinctive attractions in the Royal Docks, connecting the north and south banks across the water. As a visitor destination that is intrinsically linked to the docks, it plays a role in bringing new audiences to the waterway.

Royal Albert Dock Trust
The Royal Albert Dock Trust is dedicated to preserving the heritage, culture and community spirit of the Royal Albert Dock. As stewards of the dock’s history, they bring an important perspective to the partnership, ensuring that new development respects and celebrates what has come before.

Ballymore
Ballymore is one of the significant residential and mixed-use developers active in the Royal Docks, investing in the long-term transformation of the area into a place where people live, work and spend time alongside the water. Their commitment to quality and place-making aligns with our own approach to the docks.

DPK Management
DPK Management operates within the Royal Docks ecosystem, contributing to the operational and commercial life of the area. Their involvement reflects the breadth of organisations that make the docks function day to day, and we value the collaborative relationship we have built with them.

A shared interest in the docks
Our partners represent a broad cross-section of the organisations that have a stake in the Royal Docks. From major employers and developers to cultural institutions and community organisations, they are connected by a shared belief that the docks should be safe, active and open to everyone.

Building partnerships that last
We believe that the best outcomes for the docks come from long-term relationships built on trust, transparency and a genuine commitment to the place. We are always open to conversations with organisations that share our values and want to play a role in the future of the Royal Docks.
