What does Royal Docks Waterways do as a statutory harbour authority?

As the statutory harbour authority for the Royal Docks, we are responsible for managing safe navigation, maintaining infrastructure, regulating vessel movements and ensuring the docks operate within all relevant legal and safety frameworks. This covers everything from lock operations and mooring management to dock edge works and emergency response.

How do I arrange access to the Royal Docks for a vessel or event?

All access requests should be submitted using our Booking and Enquiry Form, available on the Booking Forms page. New customers will need to complete the New Customer Form first. Our operations team will review your request and confirm availability and next steps.

What moorings and berths are available at the Royal Docks?

We offer a range of mooring and berthing options across the dock network, including international short stay berths. Availability varies by location and vessel type. Please complete the Booking and Enquiry Form or contact our operations team directly to discuss your requirements

How do you manage vessel movements across the docks?

Vessel movements are managed by our operations team in line with the Port Marine Safety Code. All vessels using the docks are required to comply with our marine safety management system, and movements through the KGV Lock are coordinated to ensure safe and efficient passage between the Thames and the dock network.

How do I report an operational issue or incident at the Royal Docks?

Operational issues and incidents should be reported to our team as soon as possible. You can contact us directly by phone or email using the details on our Contact page. In an emergency, always call 999 first.
